# YouVoteWhy

> YouVoteWhy gives Americans plain-English truth about government power. Track all 535 members of Congress with live voting records pulled from Congress.gov, read documented IRS abuse cases and share your own, rate your representative, weigh in on live polls (Iran, Trump), and post in American Voices — the unfiltered community feed. No spin. No sides. Just truth.

## Mission

The Constitution begins with "We the People." YouVoteWhy exists to remind Americans that government works for the people, not the other way around, and to give every citizen the facts to hold elected officials accountable. Everything on the site is free. Members (Silver, Gold, Platinum) and donors keep the work independent.

YouVoteWhy is an independent civic-engagement platform. It is not affiliated with any political party, candidate, or government agency. All congressional voting data is pulled live from the official Congress.gov API maintained by the Library of Congress.
